The Field Accountant is a member of the team responsible for all aspects of inventory management, operational analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and general accounting activities for the field offices. It is a position that works closely with field operational personnel and other members of the head office Finance group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide accounting support for inventory management, including overseeing periodic physical counts
• Process material transfers for field assets when required
• Provide technical supervision to Field Purchasing Assistants for purchase order creation and receivings, month-end duties, etc.
• Assist in the administrative functions of the company’s vehicle fleet – new leases, buyouts, registrations, etc.
• Review and coding of field office expenses (e.g. telecommunications, utilities, etc.)
• Participate in various operational analyses, such as monthly/annual rig direct operating contribution margin
• Provide assistance to field managers in the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
• Participate in the implementation of system improvements, primarily for inventory, equipment management, and field procurement
• Perform other duties as required

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Completion of a recognized accounting certificate, diploma, or degree
• Enrollment in CMA or CGA program (Level 3)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in the oilfield services industry, particularly in field offices
• Solid MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP and FRx not required, but would be considered an asset
• Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with operational personnel
• Strong time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
• Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential
