Chartered Accountant
Our client is a firm of Chartered Accountants that has been around for over 80 years. They go above and beyond the call of duty with each and every one of their clients which is a large factor of their success. They are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team.
In this position, you will be responsible for performing procedures regarding the preparation of year-end paper files for all types of engagements. You will prepare budgets, prepare work programs, supervise and review the work of junior staff, monitor progress and prepare draft financial statement and management letters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in planning and performing procedures related to audit, review, and compilation engagements including preparation of financial statements.
- Preparing tax returns of medium to hard difficulty (T1, T2, T3 etc).
- Building knowledge of clients’ operations and their business
- Analyzing and documenting problematic situations and making recommendations for possible solutions
- Supervising junior staff on sections of working paper files
- Reviewing the work of more junior staff
- Reviewing WIP and preparing billing analysis and draft invoices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CA designation
- Post secondary degree
- Minimum of 2 -3 years of public practice in a mid-size accounting firm
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Senior Associate
- Audit Experience is required
