New York office seeks associate with 3-6 years of experience (flexible) in a large law firm or Big 4 accounting firm and should have some experience with tax planning and structuring for complex investments in energy and infrastructure assets in the US and abroad. The candidate should have familiarity or background in some or all of the following substantive tax areas: partnership taxation, energy tax credits and other tax issues specific to energy investments, inbound and outbound foreign tax planning, including FIRPTA issues, tax ownership concepts, leasing and other forms of tax optimal asset based financings. The candidate will help with research, drafting and managing transactions, primarily in the renewable energy field (wind, solar, geothermal, biomass, ocean energy, fuel cells), but more broadly to all asset based financings of large energy and infrastructure assets. The firm will consider attorneys with accounting firm experience.
