Residential Mortgage Litigation Paralegal The candidate will provide case Management services for real estate Mortgage litigation cases, primarily concerning disputes involving representation of residential Mortgage lenders, servicers and trustees. Will independently gather and manage documents and information relevant to assigned litigation matters; maintain complex litigation case files including extensive pleadings and discovery documents; perform basic Legal research in support of assigned Mortgage litigation cases; work directly with outside counsel to perform necessary research for discovery request responses and support lawyers in developing litigation strategies.
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of Paralegal experience including direct experience in Mortgage litigation matters required. Paralegal certificate is beneficial. Prior experience as Litigation Paralegal for lender, servicer or firm providing Legal services to lenders or servicers is required. Should have thorough understanding of litigation pleadings and procedures in state and federal courts. Must have solid research skills including ability to perform basic Legal research on Westlaw and Lexis. Should have experience with Residential Real Estate transactions, including originations, closings, and foreclosure. Must have understanding of basic residential Mortgage compliance laws and regulations, including TILA and RESPA, and associated disclosure documentation. <br> <br>Note: This is anticipated to be a 3 month position with the possibility of extension.
