Materials Planner

A growing Solar Development Company is growing our team and adding a Materials Planner who will manage the forecasting, planning and scheduling of all orders and to ensure the availability of materials necessary to complete solar projects. 


Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with transportation, suppliers and construction teams to ensure materials are available when needed
• Liaise between the General Contractor, Site Supervisor and our organization
• Become involved in the Purchase Order process (i.e. delivery terms)
• Scheduling and material management
• creating the scheduling of all orders and planning
• ensuring successful communication flow through purchasing and assess demand and ability to commit
• act as main scheduler
• ensure on time delivery
• ensure system updates are preformed and resources are available
• prepare and maintain production reports
• Responsible for the overall coordination of production schedules, ensuring that customer schedules are maintained in a timely manner
• Meet regularly and maintain a continuous flow of communication with production, quality, maintenance and management
• Drive systems and process changes by continuously reviewing current methods and making recommendations for the optimization of shipping and receiving schedules to increase efficiency and reduce costs

You Have...

• Superior organization and coordination skills having the flexibility to adjust and be flexible when necessary
• Five to ten years of experience in a similar role
• Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Logistics/Materials Management, or related discipline
• Strong Material Planning background
• Driven and self-directed in order to achieve results
• Sound planning and organizational skills complemented with experience in lean manufacturing
• Detail orientation with a practical approach to problem solving
