Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Under general direction of the District Office Chief (Supervising Transportation Engineer), the incumbent serves as the District Maintenance Roadside Coordinator to ensure roadside projects can be safely and adequately maintained. The incumbent is responsible for meeting departmental commitments to environmental stewardship, improved mobility, and safety of both the public and field maintenance staff. The incumbent serves as a liaison between the Division of Design, Construction, Environmental, Landscape Architecture, Permits, Traffic Operations, other functional units and the Maintenance Program on roadside design and design for safety issues. The incumbent coordinates with District 4 maintenance regions, outside agencies, and departmental advisory groups to achieve the goals of the Roadside Design and Management program. The incumbent formulates and implements procedures for solving more complex landscape maintenance and roadside programs by coordinating and working with transportation engineers, planners, landscape architects, maintenance managers and their staff as well as other agency representatives and the public.
