Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Polices outside grounds of residential area: removes snow/ice from walkways; picks up litter; sweeps walkways; reports any evidence of fire, illegal entry & theft of property. Performs other related duties: stocks supply closets; removes & replaces light bulbs; reports need for equipment repair; secures doors/windows; moves furniture; may sort & wash linens/laundry; attends mandated inservice trainings and staff meetings; as assigned, raises/lowers flag; as assigned, sweeps/scrubs corridor floors & wash windows. Performs other duties as requested. Continuously and proactively assesses environmental situations, organization policies and procedures, and staff, patient and visitor behavior for situations that could pose risks to patients, staff, or visitors, and reports them appropriately. Minimum Qualifications: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary. In accordance with Section 124.11(B)(2), revised code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above. Major Worker Characteristics: Knowledge of cleaning practices & procedures ; addition & subtraction. Skill in operating cleaning equipment & tools . Ability to carry out simple instructions; recognize safety warnings; stand, walk or bend continuously; lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. ( )Developed after employment.
