Process Engineer (Ammonia)

General Responsibilities:
- Accountable for all aspects of process engineering in our ammonia plant for safe,efficient and environmentally compliant operation.
- Monitors, optimizes, troubleshoots, and makes process improvements in the ammonia plant.
- Provides technical support and expertise to operations for continuous improvement in ammonia plant reliability, production, efficiency and profitability.
- Coaches and mentors the production workforce to develop their knowledge and capabilities with regard to the ammonia process.
- Participates in team efforts to identify, develop, obtain approval and execute capital projects using our company's phased approval process.
- Develops annual production plan and prepares reports/scorecards for management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering with 3+ years work experience in the chemical processing industry, preferably ammonia or chemical fertilizer processes.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with standard software packages is required.
- Experience in use of Hysis simulation software would be preferred.
- Good technical, communication, problem solving, economic, critical thinking, initiative and team skills are essential
- Familiarity with process safety practices for hazardous operations, process control, and DCS systems; and project management experience would be assets.
