Training Manager (School Buses and Motor Coach) Edmonton

 

Training Manager

Job Description:
 

  • Manage a small team of trainers for both new and experienced drivers.
  • Run School bus driver improvement courses
  • Perform driver evaluations for safety purposes and also for pre-employment
  • Coordinate and/or teach all courses for which you are qualified.  These would include; PDIC (Professional Driver Improvement Course), First Aid, Air Brake refreshers for existing employees who operate vehicles with air-brakes, various defensive driving courses for which drivers need and sometimes request refreshers Hazardous material handling for shop personnel 
  • Orientating new employees on company policies, rules, and procedures
  • Maintain up to date records of training delivered in personnel files
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure new training needs are identified and the applicable classes are developed and made available
  • Produce reports as required
  • May have to travel to locations in Alberta

Knowledge/Skills:

  •  Valid Class 1 or 2 Alberta Driver’s license
  •  Knowledge of both School Buses and Motor Coaches an asset
  •  Knowledge of Log books, pre-trips and legislation
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised or with a team
