Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Benefits Supplemental Questions The Quality Assurance (QA) and Compliance Specialist will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to provide thorough and comprehensive reviews of program case files, review existing processes and make recommendations on changes to the quality assurance and testing function and process, develop and establish quality assurance standards and measures for the programs within Human Services. Duties: Conduct case file reviews to identify trends, training needs, performance issues and/or best practices. Select review samples and obtain cases through a methodical and organized process Prepare cases and conduct internal audits and case files reviews to ensure that work meets established business requirements and compliance standards with State and Federal regulations Measure and report adherence to established QA standards for performance Interpret rule changes, apply new rules, and verify and revise QA standards as needed Identify and document existing or potential compliance issues Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas across the organization Develop and maintain effective and respectful communication with personnel in all divisions of Human Services as well as Federal, State and local auditors Communicate audit progress, results, and other relevant information to program personnel and management Assist in the development of change processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing compliance requirements Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices Compile data and statistics accurately and thoroughly to help evaluate trends. Report data and statistics to all levels of staff throughout Human Services Maintain and consistently enhance knowledge of all programs and systems used within the Department of Human Services including TRAILS, ASCES, CBMS Maintain confidentiality of case files and subsequent review findings Requirements: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL Extensive knowledge of rules and regulations for various Department of Human Services programs Keen attention to detail Ability to prioritize and successfully perform job duties despite frequent interruptions Ability to accept and adapt to changes in work environment, assignments and changing requirements Strong knowledge of auditing best practices and methodologies Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Extensive practical knowledge of County computer systems and applications,report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts Proven critical thinking, data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities Experience with statistical reporting and analysis Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language to staff at all levels Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of an Associate s Degree AND a minimum of four (4) years experience determining eligibility for Human Services welfare programs. OR any equivalent combination of education and work experience that satisfy the requirements of the job. Supplemental Information: A valid Colorado driver s license and fingerprinting must be maintained during the course of this position. Must successfully pass pre-employment testing including a criminal background check, motor vehicle check, TRAILS and IPV check. Pay rate listed is the minimum salary for the position. Pay will be dependant upon education, experience and qualifications.
