Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Responsibilities include purchasing, inventory control, materials management systems, supply cost per case tracking, and financial controls for a specified region of the US. JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of this job description include but are not limited to: 1. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a work environment that reflects USPI s EDGE , performance improvement and customer service program consistent with the Corporation s Mission Statement. 2. Manages Corporate Material Management functions to include purchasing, supply inventory management, distribution of supplies, national agreements, management and tracking of suppliers and capital equipment. 3. Trains, implements and directs all facets of the automated Materials Management system - Advantx and/or IOS SCS. 4. Assists with negotiations and data gathering for various supplier contracts. 5. Develops product specifications for bid requirements. 6. Researches and evaluates products/services and supplier performance in support of existing and/or new contacts. 7. Ensures facility compliance in the purchasing of contracted services and equipment. 8. Participates in meetings as a clinical and technical resource for purchases and ensures quality products/services are provided. 9. Analyzes and recommends polices and procedures relative to Material Management s technology practices and suppliers. 10. Develops and prepares reports and presentations based on usage statistics, purchasing trends, marketing data and saving relative to competitive bidding and national agreements. 11. Develops and maintains relationships with all levels of the company. 12. Performs budgetary research for capital equipment planning and procurement.
