PARTS TECHNICIAN (Journeyman)
Reporting to the Parts Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating and processing the inventory related to parts consumption on mining machine, cranes and other construction machines and providing customer support.
Job Duties Overview:
- Monitor inventory levels of our parts and components
- Forecast future demand and prepare stock orders for approval by the parts manager
- Enter orders and return request in the Parts systems (LME & LCA)
- Processing usage transaction and maintaining the ERP system & Applicable databases/logs
- Work with customers to ensure parts are available when required
- Coordinate activities with the remanufactured components coordinator and shipper/receiver
- Review component usage related to invoicing customers e.g. Premature wear due to abuse/errors
- Monitor the return of remanufactured components to inventory
- Answering of all questions from LCA branches, customers and suppliers
- Provide parts technical support to internal and external customers
- Oversee physical counts and weekly cycle counts as required in cooperation with warehouse personnel
- Monitor cycle counting accuracy, log results, and reconcile discrepancies
- Processing of inter/intra company transfers of parts and components
- Processing miscellaneous quotations and purchase requisitions as prior to approval by management
- Issue purchase orders and expedite delivery as required
- Arranging for transportation (inbound and outbound)
- Back up to “Service Parts Sales/Technical Support and Shipper Receiver” when required
Qualifications Required:
- Previous experience with the heavy equipment parts, inventory control
- Experience in dealing with and supporting internal and external customers
- Minimum Grade 12 education is required, post secondary education preferred
- Valid Alberta motor vehicle license with clean abstract required
- Good computer and ERP systems knowledge
- Baan or SAP, MS Word, Excel, Required – MS Access preferred)
- Strong organizational skills coupled with good verbal and written communications skills
This position works a 7 on 7 off, Tuesday to Monday, days schedule (12 hours).
