Position: Assistant General Manager
Reporting To: General Manager
Location: Vernon and Shuswap Transit
PURPOSE: Assists the General Manager in all aspects of the daily accounting function. Responsible for the completion of new employee profiles, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, benefits enrollment and other clerical and accounting functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receive and process applications and interview scheduling
2. Processes new employee files/records and submits to the General Manager for approval and follow-up
3. Creates and maintains all employee files
4. Assignment and dispatch of driver scheduling
5. Fleet maintenance scheduling coordinating with Shop Supervisor
6. Maintain accurate fuel records
7. Accounts payable and receivable functions
8. Responsible for month end reporting
9. Responsible for payroll functions
10. Customer service in administrative functions
11. Facilitate efficient Training and Safety regimens
12. Liaise with City of Vernon, Regional District and BC Transit Officials
13. Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION: Minimum High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent. Post secondary training preferred.
Experience Knowledge:
- Proficiency in computers required, MS Office, Excel, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities and is a self-starter
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Detail oriented and the ability to accurately prioritize activities to meet deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Office/bus yard. Possible on-the-road.
