General Warehouse, Mississauga Branch


Our company is a national supplier of tool and equipment product lines for the Canadian market.  Products include: abrasives, air tools, hand tools, material handling and out door power equipment.  We are a privately held, proudly Canadian company recognized as a leader in the wholesale distribution of tools and equipment industry.  Our head office located in Burnaby, B.C. with six branch offices strategically located in the major cities across Canada.

 
General Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all product shipments and receipts are processed in an efficient, organized and economical manner together with the Team Leader and Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load, unload and move products by hand or with basic material handling equipment;
• Operate a variety of equipment to unload and load and move products;
• Weigh products, wrap goods and pack and unpack products;
• Process incoming requisitions which includes picking, checking and packing orders;
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices and other documents;
• Shipment of orders;
• Restock bins;
• Maintain and organize inventory;
• Use inventory control system to locate information, search orders or investigate discrepancies;
• Clean warehouse constantly;
• Other general warehouse duty as required.

Skills & Qualities

• Physically able to lift heavy shipments and products between 25 to 50 lbs;
• Ability to operate industrial lift trucks, pallet jack, order picker and forklifts;
• Experienced with local and US shipping;
• Experience with courier processes and dealing with LCL (less than container load);
• Good communication skills (verbal and written);
• Detail oriented;
• Professional and excellent customer service skills
• A self-starter who takes initiative and sets a good example for the warehouse staff;
• A team player with a positive disposition
• Ability to lead and direct other;
• Ability to give and follow instructions and policy;
• Significant use of memory;
• Strong problem solving skills.
