Buyer Port Moody

 

Our company, a national supplier of tool and equipment product lines for the Canadian market, is currently seeking an energetic, detail oriented individual to join our Product Management Team. Products include: abrasives, air tools, hand tools, material handling and heavy duty automotive lifting equipment. We are a privately held, proudly Canadian company recognized as a leader in the wholesale distribution of tools and equipment industry. 

Responsibilities




  • Responsible for the forecasting and inventory management of categories
  • Develop trend right product assortments through line review process managing sales and profit targets by category, including exit strategies  
  • Develop a strong relationship with our Sales, Product Development, and Marketing to enhance our customer service fill rate expectations
  • Develop and maintain solid vendor relationships; use strong negotiating skills to secure allowances, terms, funding, exclusives, '1st to market'
  • Process purchase orders and ensure you are knowledgeable of supplier purchase terms, conditions, lead times etc.
  • Deal with discrepancies with purchase orders received
  • Reconcile invoices
  • Occasional dealing with logistics staff in regards to commercial invoices, freight arrangements etc
  • Ability to deal with worldwide, world class suppliers
Qualifications




  • A minimum of 3 years Procurement experience within distribution or tool and equipment industry
  • Enrolment in the PMAC an asset
  • Able to manage high volume of work and multiple projects during peak periods
  • Proven scheduling abilities and ability to deal with long lead times
  • Proven project management skills - ability to save time, money or enhance quality for both internal and external clients
  • Proven problem solving and trouble-shooting abilities
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to make relevant inquiries to uncover and clarify necessary details
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to lead, coordinate and achieve results in a team environment
  • Must be highly proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and ERP (inventory) systems
