Position: Production Scheduler (Food processing)
Location: G.T.A
Salary: $55K -$60K
Work with internal departments to plan the work schedule of production and packaging areas, optimizing resources and efficiencies to ensure product is manufactured according to customer demand, and in alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Using the weekly planning volume, create daily/weekly manufacturing schedules for both production and packaging areas of the plant.
Monitor output performance and make appropriate changes in order to meet and exceed Schedule Completion rate expectations.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and packaging materials and works with planning department to ensure efficient and timely delivery of required components to meet schedule and financial targets.
Participate in implementing company’s’ KPI ‘s and business plan, tracking progress and establishing corrective actions when required to ensure objectives are met
Leads the Plant team in monthly cycle count activities and works with the SAP team to ensure accurate entry into system.
Ensure proactive planning for seasonal manpower fluctuations.
Provide guidance and expertise to develop plant team knowledge relative to plant schedule optimization
Identify, develop and implement process improvements in area of responsibility and ensure execution.
Support company with training, reporting and other ad hoc tasks
Communicate and co-ordinate with other supervisors and managers to ensure site goals and strategies are achieved
Responsible for the identification and elimination of hazards, and working safely at all times.
Execute department strategy by developing and implementing action plans
Liaise with other departments to ensure support, integration and teamwork
Qualifications:
Post secondary education;
2 - 5 years experience as a production scheduler in packaging / production for a consumer package goods company;
Past exposure to situations involving analysis and mathematical tools
Previous continuous improvement experience using plant/system knowledge to influence team behaviors
Several years experience using SAP/MRP related scheduling software
Previous Food manufacturing experience would be an asset
