GENERAL DESCRIPTION
 
Reporting to the Section Manager, Appraisal, the main duties of the Auto Appraiser are:
 
Appraise all types of damage to vehicles and automotive equipment and recommend methods for proceeding to repair the vehicles while complying with the company’s standards and procedures.
Determine whether a vehicle is a “total loss”, establish the vehicle’s value and propose a settlement to the client.
Draft cost estimates and/or reports.
Control and verify the work done by our suppliers, as well as compliance with our procedures.
Plan and organize the work schedule, itinerary and administrative tasks.
Formulate recommendations to various participants in the claims process when deemed necessary.
 
EDUCATION & TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
 
Post secondary education (College Diploma) in auto body repair or related is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant automotive technical background is required.
Knowledge of MITCHELL computerized estimating system is an asset.
Valid Driver’s Licence  - successful candidates will be subject to a driver’s abstract search.
Proficiency with in-house & other computer systems (i.e., INDEM, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Lotus Notes).
An advanced level of English is required, both verbal and written is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position will be posted internally and externally simultaneously.
The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours and must have high-speed access to connect with our computer system.
This positions territory covers the central GTA area.
This position comes with a company vehicle.
