RESPONSIBILITIES:

- An integral part of the Cat Modeling team, assigned to gather and apply exposure data to the cat modeling software products and support the technical infrastructure of the department
- Collect data from clients and prepare it for import, apply the data to the hazard models, analyze and validate results



QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS plus 0 - 3 years of reinsurance and/or insurance industry experience, ideally with relevant experience/exposure in cat modeling
- Membership in IDMA, CPCU, etc. and/or advanced degree in IT or analytical background desirable (i.e. BS in Mathematics)
- Exposure to technical expertise in AIR, RMS, and/or EQE vendor cat models, reinsurance terms and conditions, and data management including statistical plans and policy or exposure data warehousing; with risk management and property underwriting expertise
- Good knowledge of world reinsurance markets to comprehend wide range of products necessary to address insurers' financial needs
- Good interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining good client and internal relationships
- Good verbal and writing skills for complex communications with clients, markets and colleagues at many levels
- Good ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
- Good ability to find creative solutions to new problems, as they arise
- Good ability to be organized and pay attention to detail
- Strong computer skills for using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Good ability to maintain compliance with professional standards, where applicable, as well as company-wide quality initiatives
- Good ability to understand clients' business/industry
- Good ability to work as part of a team to support clients' needs
- Good ability to address client needs by accessing and organizing resources
