Position Title: SHAREPOINT WEB DEVELOPER

POSITION SUMMARY
The SharePoint Web Developer will support the development and enhancements of a number of projects using Microsoft SharePoint and other technologies. This position works within an integrated team environment to design and develop cutting edge portal-based solutions for internal and external district customers. This will involve technical skills ranging from SharePoint 2010 design, deployment and configuration, extending SharePoint and the development of custom web parts. Serves as technical point-of-contact for clients, including gathering/resolving client feedback and managing the responses. Stays abreast of new tools and emerging trends that can be used to add value to our project teams and/or clients. Requires competency throughout the entire SDLC.
Level Characteristics – The SharePoint developer should have experience using the SharePoint 2003 or 2010 frameworks as an application development platform. The person in this position should have a flair for innovatively using the SharePoint infrastructure for storing data, customizing search and storing documents by integrating external tools into the SharePoint framework and improving business processes and productivity.
Required experience leveraging Microsoft technologies, including the .NET Framework, SharePoint 2010 (preferred), WSS 3.0, Web Services, InfoPath Forms Services, Excel Services, Workflow, SharePoint Designer, and Visual Studio. Experience developing custom web parts and/or web applications (HTML, ASP.NET, CSS, XML, JavaScript).
Strong analytical thinking, ability to organize work in a precise manner, solving problems using clear logic from problem definition to solution, ability to concentrate for a long period of time. Is able to identify areas where additional expertise is required and is willing to be self directed in gaining knowledge and seeking help. Someone at this level learns quickly follows instructions precisely, and documents his/her work carefully.
Relationships – Works under the direct day-to-day supervision of a Manager within the IT organization who defines the specific tasks to be performed. Is part of one or more technology team(s) assigned to specific development and/or operations efforts requiring Web design and development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops, designs, implements and maintains web applications and/or processes. Recommends and evaluates software, hardware and processes to the team and end-users.

Assists with the development of the technical architecture for websites including hardware, software, scripting, database design and user interface design recommendations.

Supports new and ongoing SharePoint 2003 and SharePoint 2010 projects. Identify, analyze, define, and coordinate user, customer and stakeholder needs and translates them into technical requirements.

Collaborates with network, operations, and internal staff to plan, design, develop, and implement web development, enhancements, and maintenance projects. Collaborates with network security team to ensure adequate security.

Collaborates with external vendors on special website events and/or specific design projects.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education:
Bachelor Degree or equivalent required in an Information Technology Discipline.
Work Experience:
Experience supporting a data warehouse environment and/or SSRS would be a plus.
